Labourer (Industrial Cleaner)

Duties for this position will include but not be limited to:

• Sweep mop vacuum floors and use floor cleaning equipment in the shop including welding area and walkways to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Remove metal dust and debris generated from welding and preparation areas.
• Empty general and scrap metal waste bin and dispose of waste in accordance with company policies.
• Clean locker rooms lunch room including appliances and counters.
• Clean and disinfect restrooms including toilets sinks mirrors and replenishing supplies.
• Quickly respond to and clean up non hazardous spills (e.g. water oil and other leaks if any.)
• Maintain cleanliness of entrances exits and outdoor areas near the shop including yard and parking lot.
• Follow cleaning schedules and checklists for daily weekly and monthly tasks.
• Report any safety hazards damage or required repairs to supervisors.
• Handle cleaning chemicals safely and in accordance with Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
• Ensure proper storage and restock inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment.
• Practice good housekeeping including 5S requirements and time management in the performance of daily duties.
• Comply with all legislated and company health safety environmental quality and Lean policies procedures and programs.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

Position will require the ability to:  

• Ability to work in an environment with elevated noise smoke and fumes exposure.
• Familiarity with industrial cleaning facilities.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand and walk for extended periods of time.

Additional Information :

Pay rate: $25.37 to 28.25 per hour
