Prosperity Workforce Solutions is in need of an Oncology RN for a travel contract to support an Oncology unit located in Powell River BC.
Dates: ASAP September 4 2026 (high possibility to extend)
Location: Powell River BC
Skills Required
- 1 year of work experience in an oncology setting
- BC Chemotherapy Certification
- Current BCLS Certification
Responsibilities include: Pre-chemotherapy assessments. Systemic therapy administration. IV starts and IVAD accesses. Bloodwork and flushes per IVAD also done; discharge forms filled out with next appointment bloodwork dates and medications needed; teaching of chemotherapy; management for any new patient systemic therapy start.
Number Of Patients
4-5 chemo chairs available for oral subcutaneous and/or IV chemotherapy
Typical Nurse To Patient Ratio
There is typically one full-time RN one part-time RN on and two unit clerks
Types Of Patients/Procedures
Oral and IV chemotherapy clients that are pre-booked.
Physician Supports
GP-Oncologist and Internal Medicine physicians with IM call support
Charge Nurse/Supervisor Supports
PCC/CNE and/or Patient Care Supervisor is available on call and/or on site
Orientation Instructions
RNs use CST Cerner for all assessments and medication administration documentation
Orientation Hours: 7.5 hours
Hours Paid on 8hr Shift: 7.5 Hours
Day Shift Start Time: 0730
Day Shift End Time: 1530
