We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Field Service Engineer to support advanced laser systems across the United States. This role is primarily based on-site in the Detroit area and requires extensive travel to customer locations nationwide.
Key Responsibilities

Install commission calibrate and troubleshoot advanced laser equipment at customer sites

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to ensure optimal system performance

Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical electrical and software issues
-
Provide both on-site and remote technical support to customers
-
Train customers on system operation maintenance and basic troubleshooting
-
Prepare detailed service reports and maintain accurate documentation
-
Manage spare parts inventory and coordinate with logistics teams
-
Build strong customer relationships and act as a trusted technical advisor
-
Provide feedback to engineering and product teams for continuous improvement
Qualifications
-
Associates or Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Mechanical Engineering Mechatronics or related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
-
3 years of experience as a Field Service Engineer (industrial equipment preferred)

Strong knowledge of electromechanical systems CNC controls servo drives and high-voltage systems
-
Experience with laser systems (especially fiber lasers) is highly preferred
-
Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
-
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
-
Strong communication and customer service skills
-
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
-
Willingness to travel frequently (up to 75%) across the U.S.

Valid drivers license and passport required
