Role description:
The General Accounting Specialist role is in the General Accounting team and is part of the wider Arcadis Global Onshore and Accounting Finance community. Working closely with the General Accounting Director the role is responsible for the accurate and timely preparation of financial information which requires excellent technical capability as well as attention to detail.
The General Accounting Specialist reports directly to the General Accounting Director.
Role accountabilities:
The main responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
- Complete month-end quarter-end and year-end close activities to ensure timely financial reporting.
- Perform more complex journal entries and reconciliations including consolidation activities.
- Manage the intercompany accounting and reporting process for all entities in the group including intercompany invoicing reconciliations journal entries and quarterly intercompany balance matching.
- Preparing monthly financial statements including balance sheet income statement cash flow statement and other financial reports.
- Preparing weekly cash flow forecasts in conjunction with AP and AR positions.
- Managing the Foreign Exchange impact and converting as appropriate.
- Ensuring compliance with local legislation and other regulatory requirements.
- Managing internal and external audit requirements and engaging with key stakeholders as appropriate.
- Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by your manager and Arcadis.
Qualifications & Experience:
The candidate should have;
- Degree in Accounting/Finance with recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA ACCA or ACMA or equivalent).
- Excellent knowledge of accounting standards and tax regulations.
- Audit experience is an advantage Strong analytical and investigative skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge and experience in an international and multi-currency environment.
- Oracle Deltek OneStream ERP systems and Excel high proficiency experience is an advantage.
