Job Summary
Job Title: Registered Nurse Medical Surgical

Shift: Night (3x12-Hour Shifts)
Hours: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) for a long-term contract assignment in a fast-paced acute care setting. The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills prior travel experience and the flexibility to adapt to varying unit needs.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive nursing care to Medical-Surgical patients
Monitor assess and document patient conditions using EPIC
Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality patient outcomes
Maintain compliance with hospital policies procedures and safety standards
Float to other units as required based on skillset and unit needs
Shift & Schedule Details:
Night Shift: 7:00 PM 7:30 AM
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5 to 1:6
Block Scheduling: Not available
Potential extension beyond Labor Day (preferred availability)
Required Qualifications:
Active New York State RN License
Minimum 2 years of acute care hospital experience
Prior travel nursing experience (required)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Experience with EPIC documentation system
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification
Additional Requirements:
Must be willing to float within scope of practice based on unit needs
Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius (no local candidates)
Flu vaccination required for the season (or approved medical/religious exemption submitted at least 2 weeks prior to start)
