TheSenior Analyst HR Data Quality & Governanceis a critical member of the HR Data Capabilities team responsible forprotecting the accuracy consistency and reliability of HR data across core HR landscape.
This role focuses onoperational HR data quality ensuring that employee lifecycle data (hire move pay learn exit) is fitforpurpose governed by clear standards and proactively controlled to prevent downstream impacts to payroll benefits compliance and workforce reporting & insights.
The role operateswithin the Workday HR ecosystem but it isnot a Workday configuration or implementation role. Instead it partners closely with HR Operations HR Technology and Data teams toidentify data quality risks define controls and drive sustainable fixes at the process and datastandard level.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Data Quality & Operational Controls
Own and executeHR data quality controlsacross core HR domains (e.g. workforce data compensation organizational structures learning and employee lifecycle events).
Identify assessdata quality issues rooted in HR processes upstream handoffs or inconsistent standardsnot just system defects.
Performrootcause analysisto distinguish process policy and system contributors to data quality issues and recommend durable fixes.
Define and maintaindata quality rules validation checks and monitoring routinesto prevent recurring issues in BAU operations.
Data Standards & Governance Execution
Partner with HR domain owners todefine document and operationalize HR data standards business definitions and usage expectations.
Facilitate working sessions with HR Operations HR Technology and IT partners to align on datacontrols.
Translate business needs intoclear actionable data requirementsthat support consistent HR data quality outcomes at scale.
Support governance forums by providingevidencebased insightson data quality trends risks and remediation progress.
Stakeholder Partnership & Enablement
Act as a trusted partner to HR Operations teams byconnecting data quality outcomes to real operational impact(e.g. payroll accuracy compliance readiness employee experience).
Build practical documentation templates and playbooks that enable teams toimplement data quality consistently not theoretically.
Support change initiatives by ensuringdata readiness and qualityduring process or system changes releases or new use cases.
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
Define and supervisedata quality metricsthat reflect operational health not just reporting completeness.
Supervise trends to identifysystemic risks and improvement opportunitiesacross HR processes and data flows.
Continuously refine controls standards and practices based on operational takeaways and business demand.
Qualifications
Education:
A minimum of a bachelors degree is required. MBA Preferred.
Experience and Skills:
Required:
Experience & Domain Knowledge
5 yearsof professional experience inHR Data Quality HR Data Governance or HR Process Enablementwithin alarge complex global organization.
Strong understanding ofHR business processes and employee lifecycle events and how data quality issues manifest operationally.
Proven experience identifying and resolvingdata issues driven by process gaps inconsistent standards.
Data & Analytical Capability
Handson experience defining and applyingdata quality rules validation logic and controls.
Ability to analyse data todiagnose issues and communicate insights clearlyto both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
Solid understanding of SQL and common data analysis techniques to support investigation and validation (advanced analytics not required).
Preferred:
Exposure toWorkday HR dataand downstream HR integrations (contextual understanding not configuration ownership).
Experience supportingdata governance or data management frameworksin an HR or people data context.
Familiarity with Agile or iterative delivery approaches in a business or data environment.
Experience supporting global HR data across multiple regions or operating models.
Other:
Proven track record to operate inambiguous environments bringing structure prioritization and transparency.
Strong consulting communication and stakeholdermanagement skills.
Experience working crossfunctionally with HR Technology and IT teams in an enterprise environment.
