Health and Safety Manager , AMZL WHS Team

Key job responsibilities
As a Workplace Health and Safety Manager for AMZL Italy overseeing a cluster of 5-7 delivery stations with a team of 5-7 direct reports (WHS Specialist and Technician) your key responsibilities include:
- Manage your teams on-site whilst regularly collaborating with other teams across the company
- Use internal reporting tools to analyse data reports and root causes that provide leadership with the information they need to make safety related decisions
- Provide guidance and arrangements for health and safety projects and policies
- Drive programmes designed to improve the safety culture in Amazon

A day in the life
This is an extremely varied role where you will be leading the execution of WHS strategy across multiple Italian regions by partnering with site leadership and EU stakeholders to drive safety performance improvement and standardization. You will also be managing and developing a team of WHS Technician and Specialists ensuring compliance with corporate WHS standards and local Italian legislation (. 81/2008) and Amazon safety protocols through systematic audits inspections and corrective action tracking coordinated across your network.

Conducting strategic gemba walks with senior site leadership (DSMs SOMs) to assess operational safety identify systemic risks coach on leadership behaviors and reinforce safety culture at scale will also be in your scope.

Your role is also instrumental in analyzing incident data trends and leading indicators across the cluster to identify regional patterns recommend targeted interventions and drive measurable risk reduction; participating in European working groups on specific compliance topics Amazon safety standards development and cross-functional initiatives to influence EU-wide safety strategy; and facilitating knowledge sharing best practice deployment and capability building across the regional cluster to standardize safety excellence in a dynamic collaborative and fast-paced operational environment.

You could work on a variety of projects alongside colleagues from across the business ranging from equipment and process inspections to assessing processes building and equipment design.


- Education to a degree level and ASPP or RSPP certified
- Relevant experience managing a team
- Relevant experience complying with local Health and Safety legislation
- Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and Italian
- Education to a degree level in a health and safety-related subject or an engineering degree with modules in Health and Safety legislation
- Experience complying with local Health and Safety legislation
- RSPP Qualification
- Experience in managing teams in multinational environments
- Advanced proficiency in verbal and written English and the local language

- Experience with Lean 5S and Kaizen methodologies
- Relevant experience of communicating with a wide range of stakeholders including your peers and leadership
