Provide corporate audit and assurance expertise within the Technology Projects & Execution (TPE) organization to assess business-level compliance with Chevrons Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS). Verify that internal controls designed to manage environmental health and safety (EHS) and process safety risks along with relevant regulatory requirements are in place and functioning as expected. Assure operational integrity and organizational performance through system-level audits and assurance activities.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan coordinate and lead the execution of corporate (global) EHS and process safety management system-level audits across Chevrons operated portfolio of assets.
  • Execute the documented audit process to develop audit scopes and schedules to ensure the comprehensive evaluation of OE elements and regulatory requirements.
  • Document detailed audit reports including findings observations and verification outcomes.
  • Perform verification and validations on completed corrective actions to close audit findings and prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to review and update audit protocols and related audit tools including the audit process.
  • Maintain audit records and ensure traceability in digital platforms such as Microsoft SharePoint eAssure (Enablon) and OE dashboards (Power BI).
  • Coach and mentor others on the audit process and effective assurance practices.
  • Participate in projects and activities to drive continual improvement of the audit processes and tools.
  • Participate in the development of the annual audit report and related content for senior leaders executives and independent directors.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in EHS or process safety (e.g. safety environmental management occupational hygiene chemical or mechanical engineering).
  • 8 years of experience conducting and/or participating in audits risk management activities or assurance within oil and gas or related operations (e.g. refinery oil field chemical plant pipelines fuel terminals).
  • Strong knowledge of EHS frameworks internal controls and regulatory compliance standards.
  • Excellent analytical organizational and communication skills (listening speaking and writing).
  • Ability to role model behaviors aligned with Chevrons OEMS (e.g. safe work practices).
  • Ability to lead cross-functional and dynamic audit teams and influence stakeholders including senior leaders.
  • Ability to travel internationally 20 - 30% . (Note that all international travelers are subject to visa and vaccination requirements.)
  • Strong collaboration and mentoring skills within EHS risk management and assurance.
