Job Summary

The Library of the Vall dHebron University Hospital (HUVH) provides essential information services to the entire campus supporting clinical academic and research activities. To strengthen the services specifically addressing the needs of the Vall dHebron Research Institute (VHIR) we are seeking a Documentalist who will join the hospitals library team while being operationally part of the Scientific Coordination Unit (SCU) at VHIR.

In this hybrid position the selected candidate will work from within the HUVH Library to manage and coordinate all VHIRrelated activities ensuring dedicated support for VHIR researchers in areas such as information retrieval scientific publishing Open Access Open Science research data management and researcher training. The role will act as a strategic link between the Library and VHIR contributing to the optimisation visibility and alignment of information services across the campus.

Main responsibilities and duties:
  • Provide support to users by offering personalised in person and online assistance regarding library services and information resources.

  • Coordinate and manage access activation for digital information resources subscribed by HUVH and ICS for VHIR personnel.

  • Design and deliver training on information resources bibliographic tools Open Access ORCID data management and generative AI and prepare and share the related learning materials communications tutorials and guidance on APCs affiliations and publication workflows.

  • Advise researchers on publication strategies including journal selection Open Access routes and compliance with funder mandates.

  • Support on Open Access records and deposits in the institutional repository (Scentia) and coordinate and implement the internal workflow for depositing accepted manuscripts ensuring version control and compliance with institutional policies and regulatory requirements (e.g. ISCIII).

  • Support and monitor the implementation of VHIRs Open Science Policy ensuring institutional alignment and researcher awareness while collaborating in Vall dHebron Campus and CERCA Open Science working groups and participating in Open Science and research assessment initiatives including CoARA related developments such as narrative CV models.

  • Support on updating information on transformative agreements APC eligibility and included journals on the VHIR website and intranet while also contributing to the design updating and content maintenance of the Library and Open Science sections to ensure accurate accessible and up to date information for the research community.

  • Promote and disseminate VHIR scientific publications on social media platforms and via Altmetric tools to increase visibility.

  • Organise and manage the institutional ORCID campaign including training sessions video tutorials and researcher follow up and monitor and coordinate the updates of ORCID related fields for all campus personnel.

  • Collaborate on institutional initiatives and support a variety of library activities and community engagement initiatives to enhance user experience and access to services.

Education and qualifications:
Required:
  • Degree in Information and Documentation Management or Library and Information Science diploma.

Desirable:
  • Specific training in documentation and/or digital content management.

  • English level B1 or higher.

  • Catalan proficiency certificate C1 or equivalent.

Experience and knowledge:
Required:
  • Experience in specialised bibliographic searching and management.

  • Experience in user training and the development of teaching materials.

  • Knowledge of Open Access publishing and open data management.

  • Advanced computer skills (Office 365).

Desirable:
  • Knowledge of AI tools and intellectual property aspects.

Labour conditions:
  • Working hours: Part-time position (31 hours / week).

  • Starting date: As soon as possible.

  • Gross annual salary: Remuneration will be determined by experience skills and responsibilities and aligned with the Collective Agreement pay scale.

  • Contract type: Open-ended contract linked to the project.
