About the Role:
The Director of Procurement leads the Tribes procurement operations including contracts solicitations and purchase orders. This role oversees vendor selection contract negotiations and purchasing activities while ensuring compliance with applicable laws policies and regulations. The Director develops and implements procurement policies supports organizational strategy and ensures purchasing functions align with operational and growth goals. Leaders are expected to demonstrate strong problem-solving innovation adaptability and the ability to influence positive outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:- Recommend improvements in pricing quality and service for purchased goods.
- Provide timely information to support management decision-making
- Manage vendor relationships and identify new supplier opportunities
- Oversee preparation of solicitations purchase orders and contracts
- Partner with departments to source goods and services that support organizational goals
- Monitor procurement performance supplier management and cost savings
- Lead and develop procurement staff
- Manage supplier contracts and support strategic sourcing initiatives
- Ensure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards
- Perform other duties as assigned
Core Qualifications: - Bachelors Degree in related field with three (3) years experience directly supervising and developing a high-performance procurement team required.
- Five (5) years of experience in all phases of procurement process required.
- Three (3) years of experience with purchasing and inventory systems required.
- Knowledge and experience with ERP/financial systems required.
- Experience working with automated eProcurement and accounts payable systems preferred.
- Experience implementing or upgrading an existing procurement financial system/ ERP within the last seven (7) years required.
- Experience working in a public agency or governmental environment.
- Ability to work odd and irregular hours as needed.
- Must successfully pass the required criminal and character background check.
- Ability to travel and participate in required training leadership development and other events.
- Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of this position adequately and successfully.
