Job Summary
Job Description: Aviation BA Lead CMS
The BA Lead is responsible for end-to-end business analysis and requirements management across aviation modules particularly Crew Management Systems (CMS). This role ensures functional clarity process optimization and alignment between business and technology teams acting as the primary liaison for requirements gathering documentation and validation.
Key Responsibilities
Requirements Gathering & Analysis
o Engage with stakeholders to elicit business needs for CMS and aviation workflows (crew scheduling flight ops safety).
o Conduct workshops interviews and process mapping for crew operations.
Documentation & Standards
o Prepare BRDs FSDs user stories and acceptance criteria aligned with Agile practices.
o Maintain traceability matrices and ensure compliance with aviation standards (FAA/EASA
Stakeholder Management
o Collaborate with product owners architects and delivery teams for scope clarity.
o Manage change requests and perform impact analysis.
Quality Assurance
o Support UAT planning and execution; validate deliverables against requirements
Leadership
o Mentor junior BAs; enforce documentation standards across CMS modules
Skills Required
Core BA Skills
Strong experience in requirements elicitation gap analysis and process modeling.
Expertise in BRD/FSD creation user stories and acceptance criteria.
Proficiency in tools like Jira Confluence MS Visio and Azure ADO. Domain Knowledge
Deep understanding of aviation operations: Crew Scheduling Flight Ops Safety.
Familiarity with Crew Management Systems (CMS) and airline industry standards.
Knowledge of regulatory compliance (FAA/EASA) and crew legality rules
Technical Awareness
Basic knowledge of cloud-native platforms API integrations and microservices.
Understanding of REST APIs Swagger/OpenAPI and enterprise data models.
Leadership & Behavioral
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Ability to lead BA teams and enforce documentation standards.
Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset. Preferred Certifications
CBAP or PMI-PBA for business analysis.
SAFe Agilist for scaled agile delivery.
Airline domain certifications (IATA or equivalent).
