Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

• Lead the development and execution of engineering strategies supporting major capital projects.
• Act as a trusted advisor to executive leadership providing strategic and operational insight.
• Identify business risks opportunities and innovation pathways to support growth and transformation.
• Drive financial performance across the function ensuring cost efficiency robust controls and value creation.
• Champion continuous improvement and lead the function through change.

People Leadership

• Build and lead a high-performance engineering culture.
• Inspire mentor and develop technical leaders fostering strong capability and succession depth.
• Set clear performance expectations provide coaching and enable achievement of business objectives.
• Promote a collaborative inclusive and constructive workplace.

Operational & Technical Leadership

• Oversee governance frameworks policies and standards for project engineering.
• Ensure effective delivery of engineering services across complex utility-scale projects.
• Drive performance monitoring analysis and reporting for engineering outcomes.
• Ensure resource availability capability and quality across internal teams and external engineering partners.
• Ensure compliance with safety technical standards and organizational governance.

Qualifications

• Tertiary degree in engineering technical discipline or relevant management field (required).
• Postgraduate business or leadership qualifications (desirable).
• 10 years of senior leadership experience in engineering project delivery or a related technical discipline.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver strategic and operational value within large complex organizations.
• Proven track record of building high-performance teams and leading through change.
• Extensive experience in renewable energy network infrastructure customer connections or related sectors.
• Strong commercial and financial acumen.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement communication negotiation and conflict-resolution skills.
• Ability to make decisive impactful decisions and challenge the status quo constructively.

Day-to-Day

• Collaborate with executive leadership to align engineering strategies with organizational goals.
• Lead and mentor engineering teams to ensure optimal performance and professional growth.
• Oversee the planning execution and delivery of large-scale engineering projects.
• Monitor and analyze engineering performance metrics to drive continuous improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all safety technical and governance standards.
• Engage with internal and external stakeholders to foster collaboration and drive successful outcomes.
