Your Role
The Consumer Claims Manager is tasked with supporting the Consumer NZ business across Corporate and Leisure Travel Direct Marketing Specialty Personal Lines with a focus on claim service management efficiency of claims processes and key project management.
Your Responsibilities:
- Oversight of large technical losses up to the authority level held across the portfolio;
- Supporting new initiatives in the Consumer NZ business including being a voice for NZ Claims in product development and implementation;
- Managing claims service delivery for new A&H and Consumer products including monitoring operational reports identifying areas for improvement liaising with external vendors maintaining issue logs and records of discussion and training to resolve issues;
- Effectively managing the performance of all team members (on and offshore) motivating and inspiring others towards achieving specific goals.
- Providing leadership and technical expertise to our consumer Third Party Administrators (TPAs) and and A&H service providers ensuring proper oversight and supervision of service delivery and compliance managing TPA/provider performance standards and efficiency.
- As part of the NZ claims leadership team actively delivering to strategic priorities that drive claims excellence technical proficiency continuous improvement and a high performance culture.
Qualifications- Minimum of 5 years A & H claims experience
- 2 years claims experience in property or device claims
- Broad knowledge of insurance industry and claims processes
- Strong customer service focus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills related to claims handling
- Knowledge of insurance contracts and NZ consumer lines coverages
- Experience with NZ legal requirements and regulations in the insurance industry
- Ability to work with overseas Technical Managers & claims staff
- Experience managing a team or acting as a technical referral point
- Tertiary qualified (ideal not essential)
