Data Quality Engineer / Analyst (SAS Data Governance)

Contract-to-Hire: 3 Months (Potential Extension)
Pay Rate: $60 $75/hr W2 Depending on Experience (Must be willing to work on W2)

Overview

Data quality initiative focused on improving data integrity scaling data quality rule development and integrating governance frameworks across enterprise systems.

We are seeking 2 3 Data Quality Engineers / Analysts with strong SAS and data governance experience to help address critical data integration challenges and stabilize enterprise data platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Develop test and deploy data quality rules in SAS across large complex datasets
Perform data profiling and analysis to identify inconsistencies anomalies and gaps
Translate business and data requirements into DQ rules validations and monitoring logic
Validate and reconcile data across multiple systems and data sources
Integrate data quality outputs into governance tools such as:
- Alation
- Manta
- Collibra
Partner with data stewards engineers and business stakeholders to define DQ standards
Document data rules logic and lineage to support audit and regulatory requirements
Support transition from manual processes to automated scalable DQ frameworks
Assist with data remediation efforts and ongoing monitoring of data quality KPIs

Required Experience

5 years in data quality data engineering or data governance
Strong hands-on experience with:
- SAS (Base SAS SAS Data Management or similar)
- SQL and working with large enterprise datasets
Proven experience building and implementing data quality rules at scale
Experience validating data across multiple systems / integrations
Background in financial services (banking strongly preferred)
Familiarity with data governance and lineage tools (Alation Manta Collibra)
Experience working in regulated environments (audit compliance controls)

Preferred Experience

Exposure to Snowflake or modern cloud data platforms
Experience integrating data quality into reporting analytics or downstream workflows
Knowledge of data lineage and metadata management
Experience in hybrid environments (legacy cloud data platforms)
