Property Manager for Van Allen Apartments About the Job:
We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Property Manager to oversee operations at Van Allen Apartments in the Rensselaer area. This is an excellent opportunity for a property management professional who enjoys leading teams building strong resident relationships and maintaining high-performing communities.
In this role you will manage the day-to-day operations of a multi-family apartment community ensuring the property runs efficiently while delivering an exceptional living experience for residents. You will lead the on-site team support leasing and retention initiatives maintain strong occupancy levels oversee reporting and compliance and ensure the property is safe welcoming and well-maintained.
The ideal candidate is a confident leader who combines strong operational management with excellent customer service and sales abilities.
Schedule: In-office Monday Friday 8:30 AM 5:00 PM with alternating Saturdays.
Key Responsibilities:
The Property Manager will oversee the daily operations of the community and ensure exceptional service standards for residents.
Responsibilities include:
- Leading the on-site team while providing coaching guidance and accountability.
- Utilizing strong sales and customer service skills when assisting prospects residents and colleagues.
- Demonstrating professionalism in all interactions and operations.
- Responding positively to feedback and proactively sharing ideas and improvements.
- Working independently while managing multiple priorities.
- Directing leasing activities and resident retention initiatives.
- Resolving resident or employee concerns in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintaining a minimum occupancy level of 97%.
- Performing routine property inspections to ensure quality standards are maintained.
- Completing required reports accurately and within deadlines.
- Staying informed and compliant with relevant housing and property management regulations.
- Communicating effectively with residents staff members and supervisors.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Minimum of three years of experience as a Property Manager at a multi-family apartment community with 50 units or more preferred.
- Valid New York State real estate salesperson license preferred. If currently licensed the candidate must be willing to transfer the license to the organization.
- Excellent customer service sales and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience using Entrata or similar property management software.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Valid and clean driver s license with reliable transportation.
- Knowledge of fair housing regulations.
- Basic understanding of office operations and administrative procedures.
- Proficiency with standard word processing database and spreadsheet software with the ability to learn specialized property management systems.
- Ability to maintain detailed records and generate accurate reports.
- Demonstrates personal integrity ethical behavior and professionalism.
- Candidates cannot currently reside in an apartment community managed by the organization.
