Summary Statement

The incumbent provides coverage when a teacher is absent. There is a possibility that coverage may be needed daily Monday through Friday from April through September. The location will be the Stevenson Detention Center a secure facility in Milford Delaware. The incumbent will work as part of a team and deliver instruction designed to meet the needs of a diverse population. Responsibilities include behavior management as well as interacting with families and the public. This is a 12-month position.

Essential Functions

To perform this job successfully the incumbent must be able to perform the essential duties and responsibilities in a satisfactory manner. Essential functions are fundamental core functions common to all positions in the class series and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all job duties for any one position.

Administer assessments.
Understand Individualized Education Programs (IEP).
Understand and follow lesson plans.
Cover classes when teachers are absent.
Collaborate effectively with staff during instructional time.

Job Requirements for a Teacher

Must have at least 60 college credits or an Associate Degree as required by No Child Left Behind (NCLB).
