Purpose:

Working as a member of the PRM Airside Driver Team you will drive the Companys specialist vehicles on the airfield to transfer passengers with reduced mobility (PRMs) from the aircraft to the terminal building or from the terminal building to the aircraft. The Vehicles range from Minibuses to Class 2 rigid heavy good type vehicles for which full training and instruction would be given. You will also be required to assist PRMs onto the aircraft to their seat or into the ABM vehicles or terminal buildings which involves passenger and manual handling techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

Complete the daily Vehicle Check Sheet to maintain the operational reliability of the vehicle reporting when necessary any vehicle defaults in line with the Vehicle Inspection procedure.

Drive the Company vehicles ensuring that the vehicle is safe and secure at all times.

Operate the vehicle safely within close proximity to the aircraft using all safety systems of the vehicle.

Maintaining a clean and tidy vehicle at all times.

Deliver or collect the passengers at the aircraft door and assist with the transfer into their seat or wheelchair through safe manual handling techniques.

Complete Customer Care Agent (CCA) duties within the terminal when demand requires this may include escorting passengers through the terminal/security and boarding flights or meeting arriving flights and assisting PRMs through to baggage reclaim.

Ensure that the Allocator is updated on progress of jobs at all times using PDAs and Radio.

Observe all Manchester airport airside driving requirements.

Promote a safe and secure environment at all times.

Required Experience for the Customer Service Host role:

Maintain a professional image at all times.

Ability to deal calmly and reasonably in pressurised situations.

We are seeking candidates who have a real passion for people delivering excellent customer service on a daily basis.

Set a good example at all times.

Previous Airline &/or Airport experience is desired although not essential as full training will be provided.

Experience in a similar role or driving larger vehicles would be an advantage.

Excellent communication skills

Demonstrate reliability including the ability to deliver high standards of both punctuality and attendance.

Ability to deal calmly and confidently with all demands from the public.

Champion principles of equality inclusion and diversity.

Essential Skills for the Customer Service Host role:

Valid Right to work documentation.

5-year checkable employment/education history ideally with a maximum of 5 references for vetting purposes.

Must pass a basic DBS check.

Overseas Criminal Record Check (if applicable).

Available for very early morning shifts outside of normal public transport times.

Able to obtain an airside pass that allows you access to security restricted areas.

Must be willing to work weekend and shifts.

Full clean UK driving license.

Please note that any applicant that has spent more than 6 months in any country other than the UK in the last 5 years; will need a police clearance from all countries that this would apply to.

The police clearance will need to cover the full date range the applicant was in the specific country furthermore the police clearance needs to be obtained before the applicant attending any interview with ABM.
