Job Summary

3 month Contract With A Local Authority

Job Purpose

To safely drive and operate a refuse collection vehicle (HGV) as part of a waste collection crew ensuring efficient and timely collection of waste and recycling across designated routes while maintaining high standards of safety and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Operate and drive a refuse collection vehicle (HGV) on scheduled collection routes
Work as part of a team to complete daily waste and recycling collections
Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle at all times
Conduct daily vehicle checks prior to use
Report any mechanical defects issues or incidents promptly
Follow all health and safety procedures and road regulations
Adapt to operational needs including working across both depot locations

Requirements

Valid HGV licence (relevant category)
Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
Previous experience in a similar driving or waste collection role (desirable)
Strong awareness of health and safety practices
Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Flexible and reliable with willingness to work ad-hoc hours and across multiple depots

Additional Information

37 Hours per Week (not guaranteed some weeks but majority will)
Bi-weekly Payments
Must be able to cover both depots - as per operational needs : Robinson Way Depot Telford Way Ind. Est Kettering NN16 8PP Trafalgar House Depot Wellingborough NN8 4FR
