As Quality Assurance Specialist Renewables (BESS) you will be on the ground at Glenbrook representing Contact and providing handson quality leadership through the execution phase of the project. You will work closely with our Project Manager contractors and delivery partners ensuring the battery facility is constructed in line with contract requirements approved designs and New Zealand regulatory standards. From early site works through to commissioning and handover you will be a steady presence asking the right questions and keeping quality front of mind.
This is a role for someone who enjoys being close to the action. Your days will include site inspections witnessing key hold points reviewing quality documentation and supporting the resolution of nonconformances. You will help bring the Quality Assurance Management Plan to life not as a static document but as a practical tool that guides behaviour on site. Along the way you will contribute insights highlight trends and help the team stay ahead of risks all while working in a collaborative no surprises way. Mahi tahi will be key to success here.

You are someone who takes pride in building things properly and safely and you are comfortable standing in the grey when judgement and experience are required. Ideally you bring an engineering degree or relevant electrical trade qualification along with a solid grounding in quality management systems such as ISO 9001. Experience in large scale electrical infrastructure or renewable energy projects is important and exposure to BESS projects is a bonus not a barrier. If you have worked on the owner or consultant side that will set you up well but it is not the only path in.
You will need a strong working knowledge of New Zealand building codes safety regulations and standards these are musthaves for this role. Certifications such as CQP CQM or CCQM are nice to have as is deep experience managing quality dossiers through to handover. Just as important are the personal qualities you bring. You communicate clearly build trust easily and are comfortable influencing without authority. You are curious pragmatic and proactive someone who sees quality as an enabler not a blocker.
