Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and professional DZ Driver to join our Transportation team starting at 6:00am Monday-Friday. You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of metal materials to and from our recycling facilities.
Responsibilities
- Operating an DZ-class Straight Truck to transport metal materials to and from designated locations ensuring compliance with traffic laws and company policies
- Safely loading and unloading metal materials onto the truck using appropriate equipment and secure the load to prevent shifting or damage during transit
- Performing manual tarping if necessary
- Performing routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck ensuring that it is in good working condition
- Completing accurate and thorough records of deliveries and any other required documentation
- Must have past experience operating an 13 or 18 speed manual transmission!
Qualifications :
- Valid DZ drivers license with a clean CVOR and Drivers Abstract
- Experience driving 18 speed manual transmission is required
- Need to be comfortable operating a electric pallet jack to move pallets of material on and off the truck using an electric tailgate
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as an DZ Driver
- Must be physically fit to hand tarp bins
- Customer service-oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform loading and unloading activities as required
- Familiarity with metal recycling processes and materials is an asset
