Role summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations ensure accurate financial reporting and support compliance with statutory and internal requirements. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining financial records preparing reports and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. The role requires a candidate with a strong foundation in accounting principles hands-on experience in financial reporting and reconciliations. Prior audit experience and exposure to the commodity trading industry would be advantageous.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and complete accounting records including preparation of journal entries and general ledger postings
- Prepare monthly quarterly and annual financial statements and supporting schedules
- Perform balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances in a timely manner
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure timely reporting
- Manage accounts payable accounts receivable and bank reconciliation activities as assigned
- Assist in the preparation of management reports and financial analysis
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory requirements in Singapore
- Coordinate and liaise with external auditors and other relevant stakeholders during audit and reporting cycles
- Support the implementation and maintenance of internal controls accounting policies and process improvements
- Assist with audit requests by preparing schedules documentation and explanations for key account balances and transactions
- Participate in ad hoc finance projects and initiatives as required by management
Qualifications :
Qualifications & experience:
- Degree in Accountancy Finance or a related discipline with more than 5 years relevant work experience
- Professional accounting qualification such as ACCA CPA or CA preferred
- Prior external audit experience is a plus
- Prior experience in the commodity trading industry would be an advantage
- Good understanding of Singapore Financial Reporting Standards
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Team player
