DescriptionThis position is central to the missionaries role to Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement repentance baptism receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end.
The Missionary Travel Coordinator is an individual contributor in the Travel department of the Provo MTC with responsibility to assist the Supervisor MTC Travel in leading part-time employees in the daily work. Works closely with the Supervisor MTC Travel and is responsible for coordinating all travel scheduling flight confirmations visa documentation and departures for all missionaries at the Provo Missionary Training Center. This position will also take part in customer service for missionaries and MTC personnel.
ResponsibilitiesThe incumbent reports to the Supervisor MTC Travel.
1. Coordinates all travel arrangements for missionaries travelling to the field 50%
- Coordinates with Church Travel Department to correct and update all missionary flight discrepancies and changes.
- Ensures all missionaries have the required documentation to travel domestically and internationally; coordinates with Church Travel for necessary appointments and itinerary changes when without needed documentation.
- Schedules all ground transportation requirements for every missionary departure. (Certify as a Shuttle Van Driver and assist with transportation if needed)
- Leads part-time employees assisting with gathering of documentation and arrangements
2. Supports customer service activities 20%
- Assists Travel Supervisor in supervising part-time employees answering questions pertaining to flights luggage restrictions visas and passports.
- Distributes funds for missionaries needing visa and travel assistance.
3. Coordinates all arrangements for special visa related requirements 20%
- Coordinates all travel for required personal appearances at consulates.
- Identifies and documents all US visas for non-US missionaries entering the US.
- Schedules and coordinates medical visa requirements for missionaries as needed.
- Coordinates all issues related to permanent resident and undocumented missionaries.
- Acts as notary when needed to complete required paperwork.
4. Coordinates travel needs for missionaries with special circumstances 10%
QualificationsRequired:
- 3 years customer service and/or office experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must become a certified Utah Notary within 6 months of hire
- Excellent computer skills and knowledge including Microsoft applications/products and Google Docs/Sheets.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask and follow through with details
- Excellent organizational skills
- Excellent customer service
- Good teamwork/participation
- Ability to meet hard deadlines
- Supervisory skills and the ability to work with mentor and train part-time employees
- To successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using monitors/equipment.
