Job Summary
St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church and School is seeking a motivated and energeticPhysical Education (PE) / Gym Teacher to promote physical fitness teamwork and healthy lifestyles among students in a faithbased educational environment. The ideal candidate will foster students physical development while modeling Christian values and supporting the mission of Catholic education.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver ageappropriate physical education lessons aligned with curriculum standards
- Promote physical fitness motor skills development teamwork sportsmanship and healthy habits
- Supervise and engage students during PE classes and related activities
- Maintain a safe organized and inclusive gymnasium and activity environment
- Differentiate instruction to meet varying student abilities and needs
- Integrate Catholic values such as respect selfdiscipline and cooperation into instruction
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback
- Collaborate with teachers administration and staff to support student wellbeing
- Assist with school events intramurals or athletic activities as needed
- Support the mission and values of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church and School
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Physical Education Education or a related field preferred
- Teaching certification or experience in physical education preferred
- Experience working with elementary and/or middle school students
- Strong classroom and behavior management skills
- Knowledge of safety procedures and student wellness best practices
- Practicing Catholic preferred; all candidates must support the teachings and mission of the Catholic Church
