Overview
A growing healthcare laboratory services organization is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead a financial accounting team supporting laboratory operations. This role will oversee core accounting functions financial reporting and operational financial analysis while partnering with leaders across the organization to ensure accurate reporting and improved financial processes.
The position offers a hybrid schedule with the flexibility of working both remotely and onsite in DeLand Florida. This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys leading teams improving processes and providing strategic financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the accounting and financial reporting team located in DeLand
- Manage the monthly close process ensuring journal entries and reporting are accurate and timely
- Review financial transactions for compliance with GAAP SOX and internal financial policies
- Oversee accounts payable activities and balance sheet reconciliations
- Review reconciliations and accounts receivable responses for accuracy
- Prepare executive-level financial presentations and reporting packages
- Analyze financial statements and explain key variances and performance drivers
- Provide financial and operational analysis to support leadership decisions
- Partner with operational leaders to understand business needs and develop solutions
- Lead or support cross-functional process improvement initiatives
- Contribute to budgeting and forecasting support when needed
- Ensure high-quality analytical outputs and assist with special projects as assigned
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 2 years of leadership or management experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP and SOX compliance
- Demonstrated experience reviewing month-end close processes
- Strong financial analysis and business process evaluation skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel Word PowerPoint and Outlook
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Knowledge of relational databases
- SQL query writing experience
- Masters in Accounting (MAcc) or CPA certification
- Exposure to healthcare or laboratory services environments
