WHAT YOULL BE DOING
- Develops and maintains the Regions application architecture and standards to ensure optimal performance of client-server web-based applications or cloud solutions.
- Administers and supports cloud-based environments including security permissions and site provisioning.
- Assists with system software installations and upgrades offering technical expertise throughout the process.
- Collaborates with Business Support Analysts (BSAs) to analyze business practices and requirements designing system solutions to address client needs.
- Supports the development of e-commerce e-business portal and emerging web technologies in partnership with BSAs Web Coordinators and external consultants.
- Assists in the rollout of application systems and follows up with BSAs to ensure proper functionality post-implementation.
- Researches and evaluates new products for potential use as business tools within the Region.
- Recommends software and hardware solutions to support web access electronic messaging services and system security.
- Performs routine application system maintenance and ensures software is properly installed configured and integrated within the Regions application architecture.
- Participates in the full lifecycle of application systems including development integration testing documentation implementation maintenance and support.
- Provides second-level support for client-server web-based applications or cloud-based solutions used by Regional departments in collaboration with vendors and BSAs.
- Assists BSAs in identifying effective solutions for service requests and implementation tasks.
WHAT WERE LOOKING FOR
- Successful completion of a Community College Diploma program in Information Technology Computer Sciences or a related field or approved equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Minimum five (5) years experience with installing and supporting applications in a Microsoft Windows environment.
- Demonstrated experience in the management of web environments including SharePoint and WebSphere.
- Demonstrated experience of application development tools and relational databases.
- Demonstrated experience with the full suite of Microsoft Office desktop applications and Microsoft Access.
- Demonstrated experience with installing and supporting JAVA and/ applications.
- Significant demonstrated experience in application administration and development in a multi-platform environment.
- Knowledge of or experience with operating and development systems and applications (e.g. UNIX WebSphere SharePoint VMWare.)
- Knowledge of current trends in the use of information technology.
- Knowledge of and demonstrated ability in corporate core competencies including customer service communication team work initiative/self management and accountability and flexibility/adaptability.
