Job Title: Expert Software Architect
Task Order: HBITS
Agency: State of New York Office of Information Technology Services (ITS)
Location: Hybrid Schenectady NY
Duration: 30 Months
Rate: Depends on experience

Position Overview

Consultants are needed to augment state staff with the continuing support and maintenance of several Oracle Forms applications. Upgrades and re-writes of these applications will also addition consultants will be responsible for new Java application development.

Responsibilities

Design and create scripts for databases
Develop maintain and enhance both Oracle Forms and Java applications
Perform application testing
Create and maintain technical documentation
Assist with implementation activities and ITSM incidents

Qualifications

Software Architect Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards including software coding standards tools and platforms. Designs multi-leveled architecture or component interactions of a large-scale software system.
Expert Level (7 years) Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
7 years of programming experience developing forms using Oracle Forms 11g or higher AND developing reports using Oracle Reports 11g or higher.
7 years of programming experience developing maintaining and/or enhancing electronic attendance and leave applications for the public sector supporting a significant 24/7 workforce operation.
5 years of programming experience working in a Unix environment developing Korn shell scripts.
5 years of programming experience creating and modifying relational database structures and using PL/SQL for writing triggers and procedures for Oracle RDBMS version 11g or higher.
7 years of experience coding and maintaining applications which contain Health Care data that fall under HIPAA Protected Health Information (PHI).
4 years of programming experience in server-side Java web applications in a multi-tier architecture (presentation application and database tiers) using JDK 1.5 or higher.
