Job Summary

Medical Assistant Gastroenterology Practice

Our busy gastroenterology practice is looking for a dependable and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our team. This position supports physicians and advanced practice providers in providing high-quality care to patients in our Wethersfield and South Windsor offices. We are looking for someone who is organized compassionate and comfortable working in a fast-paced medical environment.

This position offers a supportive work environment. We are committed to fostering a positive workplace culture. This position offers a Monday through Friday schedule with Thursdays off from 8:30 AM to 4:30 pm with an opportunity to work from home on occasion.

Room patients and obtain vital signs and medical history
Assist providers with patient care and documentation
Manage prescription refill requests
Coordinate labs imaging and referrals
Communicate with patients regarding results and follow-up instructions
Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
Help maintain efficient patient flow throughout the day

Requirements

Medical Assistant experience preferred
Strong communication and organizational skills
Ability to multitask in a busy practice
Must have reliable transportation to travel to our Wethersfield and South Windsor offices
Demonstrated written verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Athena experience a plus.
