About the role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Marketing Cloud Developer to support and enhance our EU Salesforce Marketing Cloud (SFMC) ecosystem. This role will lead technical design development integration and optimization of marketing automation solutions while ensuring GDPR compliance and EU data governance standards.

The ideal candidate combines deep technical expertise in Salesforce Marketing Cloud with strong stakeholder collaboration and experience working in regulated multi-country EU environments.

As a Senior Software Developer in the Marketing space within the Plasma-Derived Therapies (PDT) business unit you will focus on designing and implementing Salesforce Marketing Cloud Solutions with a strong emphasis on Marketing Cloud Personalization (MCP). Your role also involves the optimization of solutions for performance reliability and scalability while also implementing robust audit monitoring backup and archival solutions to support compliance. Collaborating closely with multiple stakeholders you will translate business needs into effective technical solutions maintaining continuous dialogue with both business and IT teams to ensure robustness accuracy and consistency.

By designing and implementing sophisticated marketing solutions this role directly contributes to PDTs ability to harness data effectively enhancing decision-making capabilities and ultimately competitive advantage in the market. You will be adopting cutting-edge technologies and methodologies which will help Takeda drive innovation adapt to new opportunities and continuously evolve in an ever-changing business/technological landscape.

This position will align to External Experience chapter of the ICC and initially report to the PDT Delivery Lead for strategic direction as well as day-to-day management

How you will contribute:

• Design & implement Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions with a strong emphasis on Marketing Cloud Personalization (MCP)
• Develop personalized customer journeys leveraging data-driven insights to enhance customer experience.
• Collaborate with functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions
• Integrate Salesforce Marketing Cloud with other systems and platforms ensuring seamless data flow and consistency.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to Marketing Cloud Personalization.
• Document technical solutions processes and workflows to ensure clarity and consistency.
• Develop and implement audit monitoring backup and archival solutions
• Conduct testing and validation to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Work closely with business and IT teams to ensure data accuracy consistency and availability across different systems.

EU Data & Compliance

• Ensure solutions comply with General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
• Support consent management data retention policies and preference centers
• Partner with legal and compliance teams for EU data governance standards

Integration & APIs

• Design and maintain integrations between SFMC and:
• Salesforce CRM (Sales/Service Cloud)
• External EU systems (CDPs data lakes web platforms)
• Develop REST/SOAP API integrations
• Implement Marketing Cloud Connect and real-time triggered communications

Campaign Enablement

• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Support multi-language multi-country EU campaigns
• Optimize deliverability personalization and segmentation strategies

Performance & Optimization

• Conduct SQL performance tuning and data model optimization
• Improve automation efficiency and reduce processing time
• Monitor campaign performance and troubleshoot issues proactively

Leadership & Governance

• Provide technical mentorship to junior developers
• Establish coding standards and deployment best practices
• Participate in architecture reviews and release planning

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Marketing or related field.
• 5-8 years of experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud
• Salesforce Marketing Cloud certifications (e.g. Email Specialist Marketing Cloud Consultant) are highly preferred
• Proven experience in implementing complex Salesforce Marketing Cloud solutions
• Strong understanding of data management segmentation and Personalization techniques and cross-cloud integrations.
• Proficient in APIs AMPScript SQL HTML CSS and JavaScript.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Demonstrate ability to interpret and work with data (e.g. dashboards reports data quality concepts) and understanding of AI/ML fundamentals to adapt to emerging technology trends identify opportunities for intelligent automation/insights within Salesforce and make data-informed decisions.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (cross-country EU teams)

Preferred requirements:

• Experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud Service Cloud and other Salesforce products.
• Knowledge of marketing automation tools and best practices
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies
• Experience supporting Central/Eastern European markets is a plus.
