Occupational Health Nurse

Kadiak LLC a Koniag Government Services company is seeking an Occupational Health Nurse to support Kadiak and our government customer in Washington DC. The nurse will work in both the Washington DC location and Arlington VA position is covered under the Service Contract Act. This role involves assessing travel health risks administering vaccinations and offering education on preventive measures for clients traveling to global destinations. Requirements:Background in international travel immunizations is required and should be reflected in your knowledge of international travel health requirements and immunization attention to detailUnrestricted license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Virginia as well as Washington DC. (DC license is required as DC is not part of the Nurse Licensure Compact).Graduation from a National League of Nursing (NLN) accredited School of NursingProficient in phlebotomyProficient in IM and SQ injectionsCurrent BLS/AED recognized by the American Heart AssociationExperience performing audiometric testing is preferredOccupational Health experience is highly desirableProficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word Excel and written and verbal communication to perform the physical requirements of the clinical nursing duties (e.g. CPR performance responding immediately to an emergency carrying a thirty (30) pound Emergency Go-Bag etc.) without accommodation as well as free from any communicable disease(s).Must be willing to work at both locations (DC and Arlington VA) as staff will be expected to rotate between these two sites on a quarterly Hours:Services are to be provided between the hours of 0800-4:30. Nurse will work 16-24 hours a week no weekendsRemain Flexible to meet agency Functions Responsibilities & Duties may include but are not limited to:Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients travel health needsAdminister and manage travel-related vaccinations and medications for adults and expert guidance on health precautions and preventive measures for international patients on potential health risks and safe travel accurate and up-to-date patient records and vaccination current with international health regulations and vaccination be able to work independently with guidance from physicians and using standing orders to assess patient overseas travel use best practice guidelines to administer recommended vaccines maintain medical records and assist patients in complying with prescribed medical and provide comprehensive nursing care in accordance with professional nursing standards and uses recommendations from CDC WHO ACIP and Travax to develop care direction for prescribed medications and protection from environmental with overseas medical personnel on past immunization status and various healthcare in all required training and competency assessments according to staffing contract and policies and SOP to maintain ability to work in assigned components of physical exams which may include but are not limited to Vital signs height and weight Audiometry Vision testing ECG Spirometry Phlebotomy and TB skin testing. Documentation of all clinical data on all required employees who may develop emergent conditions while on the job.
