Job Summary

We are looking for an inspiring and committed Teacher of Film Studies to join our vibrant department with a preference for candidates who can also teach an additional subject aligned to their expertise and interests. This role offers an exciting opportunity to shape a thriving Film department and inspire students to develop a deep lasting engagement with film as both an art form and a cultural force.

Alongside your classroom teaching there may be opportunities to take on leadership responsibilities therefore we are also keen to hear from teachers who bring not only subject expertise but also the vision and initiative to help drive the department forward.

Your opportunity

We are looking for an accomplished and enthusiastic Film Studies Teacher to join our Film department. Our curriculum is designed to challenge students intellectually nurture sophisticated critical thinking and develop their ability to analyse film language evaluate evidence and form wellreasoned interpretations of the world around them. Your expertise would play a central role in shaping a learning environment that prepares students confidently for their GCSEs.

What we are looking for

You will:

  • Be willing to teach Film Studies across years 10 and 11.
  • Be an enthusiastic and passionate practitioner who is committed to improving the life chances of students in their care
  • Be forward thinking creative receptive to change and able to work with the team
  • Be willing to develop a strong knowledge of the curriculum and its means of delivery
  • Have the ability to develop strong relationships with students

The Details

Start Date:September 2026

Salary: GLFMPR/UPR (Fringe) Plus possible TLR2 dependant on responsibilities

Contract: Permanent Full-Time
