Summary of the Job:
About This Role:
Metadata Management:
Lead the process to gather and maintain standard data definitions for each data element conformed item and calculated item available for use in the data environment.
Coordinate with various departments to establish and maintain standard and consistent definitions.
Coordinate with IT teams to ensure alignment of data definitions across the enterprise and their establishment as available fields in the data environment.
Data Quality Management:
Lead the process to identify prioritize and complete data quality improvement initiatives to ensure high quality accurate data is available for use in the data environment.
Participate in profiling data from various sources to identify and understand current-state data quality.
Manage and coordinate data quality improvement efforts from source system inputs to final presentation through the data warehouse.
Participate in enterprise data quality discussions and initiatives to ensure alignment across the bank.
Master Data Management:
Lead the process to identify and define master records for key business entities necessary to First National Bank.
Facilitate the data mastering/golden data record process for key entities.
Participate in defining master data and aligning IT and business units around the mastered data.
Participate in presenting and making available master record data for operational use analytical use and in decision-making.
Data-Related Business Initiative Support:
Identify key performance indicators as defined by senior management and key stakeholders to ensure alignment with other business units.
Participate in projects to ensure data considerations are included in new implementations and modifications.
Establish or improve extract transform and load (ETL) processes.
Create query scripts for creation and improvement of semantic layer datasets to feed reporting systems
The Ideal Candidate for This Role:
Required:
Bachelors degree in a science technology engineering or mathematics discipline or 5 years of relevant data management experience
Minimum of 5 years experience using SQL and Python to query extract manipulate and analyze large datasets
Experience with data governance tools and practices including Data Catalog Data Glossary Sensitivity Tagging Data Quality Data Marts etc.
Strong knowledge of data analysis and reporting tools (Snowflake UI SQL Server Management Studio Visual Studio SQL Server Data Tools Power BI etc.)
Strong analytical communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to lead presentations and build consensus between business and IT teams
Ability to prioritize multi-task and work independently in a fast-paced environment
Comfort with Generative AI capabilities and integration into data management and governance practices
Preferred:
Masters degree in a science technology engineering or mathematics discipline
Expertise in data management or data governance applications/platforms (such as Informatica or Horizon) and practices
Experience with data modeling
Experience in the financial services/banking industry
Familiarity with householding and mastering practices
