About the Group:
At the autonomous vehiclesFoundational AI Researchteam in Israel which is part of the GM AVAI Researchorganization we are shapingnext-generationautonomous driving L3 andbeyond.The AI Research organization is dedicated to advancingthe state-of-the-artin AI for autonomous vehicles. We are a collaborative forward-thinking group of researchers and engineers tackling some of the most complex challenges in autonomy and machine learning.
The mission oftheAI Research groupbased in theUSis to create groundbreaking technologiesfor next-generationautonomous vehiclesby combiningcutting-edgeresearch with real-world innovation and technology incubation. Among severalinitiatives we are buildingmultimodal foundation models (visionlanguageaction)overfleet- and internet-scaledata and we are buildingcontrollable world modelsthat generate realistic multi-sensor driving data (camera radar LiDAR) tostrengthen coverage and accelerate long-tail reductionfor our L3 autonomy product.
About the Role:
As a senior AI researcher you will set the technical direction in your area drive experimentation rigor and be a key influencer of our autonomy roadmap.Youllexplore and developnew technologiesfrominceptionto implementation. As a tech lead you will be expected to partner with respective engineering groups such as Perception Behavior/Policy Data Simulation and Validation to ensure your research affectsreal-world additionyoullparticipatein high-quality paper publication at top-tier conferences/journalsand collaborate with leading academic partners.
At the GM Foundational AI Research group your work will influencemillions of drivers worldwideand definewhatsnext inautonomous driving.If youre passionate aboutsolving hard problemsand advancing the frontiers ofautonomous driving we want you on our team.
What will YOU do
Drivedownstream KPI liftfor theautonomousdriving agent.
Participate in AI research projects in the areas ofVLMs /world modelingcomputer vision 3D perception multimodal sensor fusion and others.
Design build train and evaluatefoundation modelsandlarge-scale deep learning architecturesdesigned for autonomous driving.
Collaborate with engineering teams to translatestate-of-the-artresearch into scalable production solutions.
Work towards external publications in top-tier conferences / journals.
Track emerging trends inyour field.
Incubate cutting-edge technologiesaimedatimpactingour L3 autonomous driving technology.
Build andmaintaincollaborations withtop universities research labs and industry experts.
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
PhD in Computer Science Electrical Engineering Robotics or a related field (Excellent . graduates will be considered).
Over 3 years of research experience in computer vision machine learning autonomous perception or related areas.
Strong publication record at top-tier AI/ML conferences and journals.
Excellent coding skills and familiarity with modern AI frameworks.
Hands-on experience with large-scale training 3D data multimodal perception or foundation models is highly desirable.
