Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in preparing and reviewing real estate documents such as purchase agreements leases and title documents.
- Conduct title searches and examine title insurance commitments.
- Coordinate and schedule closings with clients real estate agents and lenders.
- Maintain organized files for pending and closed transactions.
- Ensure compliance with local state and federal real estate laws and regulations.
- Prepare documents for filing with local and state agencies.
- Communicate effectively with clients and third parties to gather necessary information.
- Conduct market research and analyze relevant legal precedents.
- Track deadlines and manage calendars for various real estate transactions.
- Provide support in litigation matters related to real estate disputes if necessary.
Requirements
- Associates degree in Paralegal Studies or a related field; Bachelors degree preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal ideally in real estate law.
- Strong understanding of real estate transactions and legal terminology.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and common legal software.
- Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proactive approach to problem-solving and multitasking.
- Familiarity with Buffalos real estate market and regulations is a plus.
- Certification from a recognized paralegal organization is advantageous.
