The Director of Spa & Wellness is responsible for the strategic leadership and operational excellence of all spa and wellness offerings within the hotel. This includes oversight of the spa wellness suites and internal staff wellness initiatives. The role ensures a seamless luxury guest experience while driving revenue innovation and a strong culture of wellbeing across both guests and employees.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership & Operations
- Lead the overall vision strategy and performance of the spa and wellness division
- Oversee all day-to-day operations through the Spa Manager ensuring alignment with brand standards and business objectives
- Drive revenue growth profitability and achievement of financial targets across spa and wellness offerings
- Develop and implement innovative wellness programs experiences and activations
Spa & Wellness Experience
- Ensure delivery of Forbes / 5-star service standards across all guest touchpoints
- Oversee the end-to-end guest wellness journey ensuring consistency personalization and service excellence
- Monitor guest feedback and implement service recovery strategies where required
- Curate and evolve treatment menus retail offerings and wellness experiences
Wellness Suites Oversight
- Manage the performance presentation and utilization of hotel wellness suites
- Ensure wellness suites deliver a premium differentiated guest experience
- Collaborate with Rooms Division and other departments to integrate wellness into the broader guest offering
Seasonal & School Holiday Wellness Activations
- Plan oversee and implement wellness programs and activations during school holiday periods
- Ensure activations are engaging safe and align with the hotels wellness standards
- Collaborate with marketing and events teams to promote seasonal wellness offerings
Team Leadership & Culture
- Lead mentor and develop the Spa Manager and wider wellness team
- Foster a high-performance culture focused on service excellence accountability and continuous improvement
- Partner with HR to support recruitment training and retention strategies
Staff Wellness Initiatives
- Design and implement staff wellness programs that support employee wellbeing and engagement
- Promote a culture of health balance and wellness across all departments
- Monitor participation and effectiveness of internal wellness initiatives
Financial & Commercial Performance
- Oversee budgeting forecasting and financial performance of the spa and wellness division
- Drive retail strategy partnerships and revenue optimization opportunities
- Monitor labour costs productivity and operational efficiencies
Compliance & Standards
- Ensure compliance with all health safety hygiene and regulatory requirements
- Maintain operational excellence across all facilities including spa and wellness suites
- Uphold brand standards and luxury positioning at all times
Qualifications :
- Minimum 57 years experience in spa or wellness leadership within a luxury hotel resort or high-end wellness facility
- Bachelors degree in Hospitality Management Business Management Health & Wellness or a related field (preferred)
- Formal spa beauty or wellness qualification (e.g. Diploma in Beauty Therapy Massage Therapy or equivalent) highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience managing multi-functional wellness operations (spa wellness programs fitness or holistic health offerings)
- Proven track record in driving revenue achieving financial targets and managing budgets
- Experience leading and developing high-performing teams including senior leaders (e.g. Spa Manager level)
- Strong knowledge of Forbes / 5-star service standards and luxury guest expectations
- Experience in retail strategy product partnerships and upselling initiatives
