We are seeking a Facilities Electrical Engineer with specialized expertise in commissioning project execution and operational readiness within a high-demand semiconductor manufacturing environment. This critical role ensures the seamless integration of new and upgraded electrical systems - from design validation through energization - while maintaining uninterrupted fabrication operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with medium-voltage electrical systems up to 12000 V and a proven track record of executing complex projects safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Commissioning & Startup Leadership:
- Lead commissioning for facility upgrades expansions and new tool installations.
- Develop commissioning plans and validation protocols for performance functionality and compliance with design and operational requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure timely energization and successful system handoff.
- Project Execution & Documentation:
- Author review and approve electrical project scopes of work (SOWs) and switching/LOTO schedules for outages tie-ins and energizations.
- Create and maintain SOPs maintenance procedures and emergency response plans aligned with industry best practices.
- Manage electrical change orders submittals and RFIs during project execution.
- Facility Upgrades & Tool Installation:
- Provide electrical engineering support across the project lifecycle including new fab construction expansions and tool installations.
- Ensure designs comply with NEC SEMI standards corporate specifications and power quality requirements for sensitive equipment.
- Validate voltage current grounding and harmonic performance for new tool hook-ups.
- Power System Reliability & Safety:
- Apply load-shedding and restoration strategies to minimize risk during planned outages and unplanned events.
- Champion electrical safety particularly during medium-voltage (up to 12 kV) energization and maintenance.
- Maintain compliance with NFPA 70E OSHA and NFPA 70B standards.
- Ability to read single-line drawings.
- Develop and implement robust LOTO procedures for complex multi-sourced and medium-voltage systems.
- Maintain accurate as-built documentation and participate in electrical incident.
Qualifications :
- Preferred Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Will consider Associates degree.
- 4 years of electrical engineering experience construction support and operational troubleshooting.
- Proficient in power distribution systems motor control centers (MCCs) VFDs and backup/emergency power systems.
- Experience with low and medium-voltage systems up to 12000 V is required.
- Good knowledge of electrical codes and standards including NEC NFPA 70E IEEE and NETA.
- Skilled in Revit and CAD drafting platforms (e.g. AutoCAD).
Preferred Qualifications
- BS in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems or controls.
- Control systems troubleshooting and commissioning experience.
- Experience performing power systems studies including protective device coordination arc flash analysis short circuit calculations and cable schedules.
- Background supporting electrical systems in high-reliability environments such as semiconductor pharmaceutical or data center facilities.
Additional Information :
- This role will work on site in Roseville CA
- This position works Monday- Friday overtime and on call when necessary.
- Indefinite U.S. work authorized individuals only. Future sponsorship for work authorization unavailable.
