About the Role

The successful candidate will deliver engaging Design Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 helping pupils develop creativity technical understanding and confidence in practical design work.

Key responsibilities include:

• Teaching Design Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4

• Planning and delivering engaging lessons that encourage creativity and practical learning

• Supporting pupils in developing skills in design materials and manufacturing processes

• Monitoring and assessing pupil progress and providing constructive feedback

• Maintaining safe and well-organised workshop and classroom environments

• Contributing to the development of the Design Technology curriculum

• Supporting extracurricular activities clubs or design projects where appropriate

Experience and Skills

The successful candidate will:

• Hold QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification

• Have strong subject knowledge in Design Technology

• Be confident delivering practical lessons in a workshop or classroom environment

• Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills

• Be passionate about creative education and inspiring pupils

• Work effectively as part of a collaborative department
