- Provide expert consultation on the strategic planning and development of Extra high and high-future demand growth and system reliability.
- Ensure compliance with grid codes international standards (IEEE IEC) and best practices.
- Identify the potential improve point in grid code procedures and guidelines.
- Identify transmission system bottlenecks and recommend reinforcement or new infrastructure projects.
- Perform techno-economic evaluations to determine the most cost-effective and reliable transmission solutions.
- Prepare detailed technical reports presentations and feasibility studies for management and stakeholders.
- Provide guidance on project prioritization and investment decisions by developing comprehensive feasibility studies and investment plans that ensure alignment with technical economic and strategic objectives.
Transmission Network Analysis
- Conduct transmission system modeling and steady-state load flow and Dynamic / Transient analysis and using software (such as PSS/E & Dig Silent) to evaluate existing and planned network performance.
- Perform transient analysis using tools like PSCAD.
- Conduct generation interconnection impact studies.
- Conduct comprehensive load forecasting and scenario analyses to anticipate future network requirements.
- Support transmission planning team by validating and updating network models reflecting current and projected system configurations.
- Identify system weaknesses bottlenecks and reliability issues through rigorous analysis and recommend appropriate network reinforcements or upgrades.
- Encourage the identification of new technologies and work practices to improve the team performance.
- Research recent policies and guidelines around renewable energy
- Collaborate with planning team to integrate study results into long-term network expansion plans.
Requirements
Transmission Network Planning
Preferred Qualification: PhD in Engineering.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Electrical Engineering.
- Masters degree.
- 20 years of experience in Transmission Network Planning in utilities and consultancy).
- 2 years in system studies related to Transmission Network.
- Leadership Experience: 5 years.
