How youll make an impact:

As the Carters Wholesale team continues to thrive we are looking for a strategic analytical and flexible Planning/Allocation Analyst to join our team. This role analyzes sales trends inventory levels and demand forecasts to optimize product allocation across stores and distribution centers. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented analytical and highly organized with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.

75% Allocation and Inventory Management

  • Monitor distribution center flow and store-level inventory to proactively address potential stockouts or excess inventory
  • Support new item launches modular transitions and seasonal programs
  • Manage the on-order file and customer allocations to ensure accurate and timely shipments
  • Achieve inventory in-stock goals through monitoring both account and corporate stock positions
  • Communicate risks and opportunities related to demand shifts supply disruptions or promotional lift
  • Generate performance reports and provide actionable insights to Sales and Supply Chain teams
  • Collaborate with forecasting production planning and logistics teams to ensure alignment between supply and demand
  • Assist in resolving allocation discrepancies or fulfillment issues

25% Reporting

  • Update and enhance reporting to best support inventory planning and allocations; report on metrics such as sell-thru productivity weeks/months of supply and fill rates to internal/external customers
  • Conduct store analysis on sales performance and inventory quality identifying store needs by sku for sell-through improvement
  • Provide ad hoc business reports and analysis as needed supporting leadership
  • Participate and present in key business meetings
  • Continually strive to improve quality of information analytical techniques processes and systems

Must have:

  • 1-2 years experience in retail/wholesale planning allocation and business analysis
  • Strong analytical and data interpretation skills
  • Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables lookup functions data analysis)
  • Familiarity with retail reporting systems and supply chain tools
  • Ability to translate data into strategic allocation decisions
  • Strong communication and relationship skills for cross-functional and retailer-facing collaboration
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities

Preferred skills and experience:

  • BS or BA degree preferred
