Job Description
As a Security Officer - Armed Checkpoint in West Palm Beach FL you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Government and more. Join Allied Universal at a government location as an Access Control Security Officer where you will manage entry points verify credentials and monitor assigned areas to help support a secure environment. You will remain highly visible communicate clearly with staff and visitors and document security-related activity with professionalism and integrity. This is an armed post and requires a valid drivers license for driving duties as needed.

What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to visitors and staff at a government location by following Allied Universal security-related procedures site-specific policies and when appropriate emergency response activities.
- Control access at entrances and/or gates by checking identification issuing visitor credentials maintaining entry and exit logs and directing visitors to the appropriate areas.
- Monitor alarms cameras and/or access control systems; report irregular activity and help to deter unauthorized access by following post orders and reporting procedures.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner including assisting with evacuations medical responses and/or coordination with on-site personnel as directed.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas including building perimeters and common areas to identify maintenance concerns policy violations and/or suspicious activity and document observations per site requirements.
Minimum Requirements:
- A valid drivers license is required in the state where the job is located.
- Possess 3 or more years of combined law enforcement military and/or security-related experience or a college degree.
- Possess an armed guard card and unarmed guard card.
- Client requires proof of high school diploma or GED.
- Be at least 21 years of age.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
