About the Position:
In an exciting and challenging environment the Steelpourer under general supervision performs daily and other related duties following established practices set forth in the Operating Procedures and Manufacturing Instructions manuals.

What youll do:
- Operates remote control crane as required
- Bricks plates and sets hot tops
- While performing duties in the West Bay is solely responsible for stripping and tagging of all ingots on his/her shift in that area.
- While in the West Bay is responsible for guiding the West Bay Laborer in necessary tasks.
- Performs minor repairs and cleaning of hardware
- Adds necessary materials for complete mold set-up
- Inspects mold set-ups for mold size hot top setting and workmanship
- Places flux in molds and heat number tag on molds
- Opens ladles and regulates flow rate taking stream samples jominy lollipop and hydrogen pins
- Pours overpours
- Maintains teeming platform and ladle make-up stand stock
- Services ladles by replacing nozzles plates etc.
- Completes teeming reports mold flailing tracking and updates ladle book.
- Abides by all policies and procedures established by the Company including plant safety regulations and work rules.
- Must have ability and desire to work well with others.
- Meets attendance requirements.
- Performs other duties as deemed necessary.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Minimum High School graduate or equivalent G.E.D.
EXPERIENCE: Previous experience working with liquid steel on a daily basis is preferred. One (1) year experience in Bottom Pour preferred. Certification in remote crane operation is preferred.
PHYSICAL:Must be clean shaven and remain without facial hair that will interfere with the surface area covered by the required N-95 respirator. This requirement is in place to comply with the OSHA Silica Standard since Bottom Pour employees are exposed to more than the Permissible Exposure Limit set by OSHA for respirable silica order for the respirator to work properly the portion of the face must be free of facial hair or other facial features that could impede the respirators ability to properly protect the employee.
TRAINING: Theoretical Steelmaking Course 80% overall score preferred. 80 hours experience as a qualified crane operator and must satisfactorily complete the EQS Crane Training Program.
