The Opportunity

While youre passionate about developing people you also understand the importance of operational excellence and regulatory compliance. As a Novice Instruction Supervisor you play a key part in ensuring AMAs Driver Education programs are delivered to the highest standards.

Reporting to the Manager Driver Education Novice this role supports the delivery of classroom and in-vehicle driver education programs across Alberta. You will work collaboratively with instructors supervisors administrators and leadership to ensure Alberta Transportation requirements and AMA standards are met while delivering a consistently excellent member and client experience. Youll also be a key point of contact for resolving concerns supporting instructor performance and identifying opportunities to improve service quality.

How Youll Make an Impact

In this role you will:

  • Support the delivery of Driver Education programs in alignment with Alberta Transportation School Licensing requirements and AMA standards
  • Work closely with instructors and supervisors to ensure quality consistency and compliance across classroom and in-vehicle instruction
  • Support instructor recruitment onboarding training and ongoing development
  • Monitor service delivery performance trends and quality metrics and recommend improvements as needed
  • Act as a first point of contact for escalated student parent or instructor concerns ensuring fair and timely resolution
  • Collaborate with Driver Education leadership Field Managers Senior Instructors and administrators to identify service gaps and implement solutions
  • Share preventative guidance training opportunities and best practices with the instructor network to improve satisfaction and reduce complaints
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives curriculum support and community events as required

What You Bring to the Table

To be successful in this role you bring:

  • A high school diploma
  • A minimum of five years experience in driver education or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience in leadership coaching and performance management
  • Experience supporting recruitment onboarding and development of instructors or contractors
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills in a customer-focused environment
  • Ability to produce high-quality results within tight timelines

Licensing and Requirements:

  • Valid Class 1 2 or 4 Alberta Operators Licence with a clean 10-year Drivers Abstract
  • Licensed Alberta driving instructor with appropriate endorsements for novice in-vehicle and classroom instruction
  • Knowledge of Alberta Transportation School Licensing requirements and AMA Driver Education standards
  • Security Clearance including Vulnerable Sector Check
