Position Title:ElementarySpecial EducationTeacher (Anticipated vacancy)

Minimum Qualifications:

Must possess or be eligible for Connecticut State Department of Education certification for Special Education(165 or 065).
Degree from an accredited college or university in Special Education

Reports to:Building Principal and/or designee

Compensation:In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education.

Work Year:In accordance with the collective bargaining agreement between the association and the Board of Education. One (1) year interim position for the 2026-2027 School Year

Responsibilities:TheSpecial Education Teacher has the followingresponsibilities as listed below and other duties and responsibilities as shall be assigned by theBuilding Principal and/or designee:

Provides comprehensive case management planning and providing instruction directly to students requiring social emotional and behavioral support.
Provides training support and guidance to a team of para educators; co-teaches; communicates and collaborates with teachers and families.
Implements IEP and leads PPT processes
Other responsibilities as defined by the building principal or designee.
