Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to join a Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health unit. The LPN will assist in providing patient-centered nursing care for pediatric and adolescent patients with psychiatric and behavioral health needs while working closely with physicians registered nurses and the multidisciplinary care team.

Schedule

  • Shift: Day Shift

  • Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM 7:00 PM)

  • Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend

  • Holiday Requirement: Some holidays as required

Patient Population

  • Children and Adolescents (Ages 517)

  • Behavioral health and psychiatric care in an inpatient setting

Required Qualifications

  • Active New York State LPN License

  • CPR Certification (or ability to obtain/re-certify)

  • Minimum 1 year of nursing experience

  • Pediatric experience required

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior inpatient behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience

  • Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician.

  • Monitor and document vital signs patient status and treatment responses.

  • Assist physicians and nurses with patient examinations and procedures.

  • Prepare exam rooms and clinical areas for patient care activities.

  • Administer medications and injections as directed by providers.

  • Assist with patient care activities including assessment support observation and documentation.

  • Communicate effectively with patients families and healthcare team members.

  • Support unit operations patient scheduling and documentation tasks.

  • Maintain clean and organized clinical environments and ensure proper equipment readiness.

  • Participate in nursing unit activities and patient care planning.
