Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN/LVN) to join a Child and Adolescent Behavioral Health unit. The LPN will assist in providing patient-centered nursing care for pediatric and adolescent patients with psychiatric and behavioral health needs while working closely with physicians registered nurses and the multidisciplinary care team.
Schedule
Shift: Day Shift
Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM 7:00 PM)
Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Holiday Requirement: Some holidays as required
Patient Population
Children and Adolescents (Ages 517)
Behavioral health and psychiatric care in an inpatient setting
Required Qualifications
Active New York State LPN License
CPR Certification (or ability to obtain/re-certify)
Minimum 1 year of nursing experience
Pediatric experience required
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
Prior inpatient behavioral health or psychiatric nursing experience
Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems
Key Responsibilities
Provide nursing care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or physician.
Monitor and document vital signs patient status and treatment responses.
Assist physicians and nurses with patient examinations and procedures.
Prepare exam rooms and clinical areas for patient care activities.
Administer medications and injections as directed by providers.
Assist with patient care activities including assessment support observation and documentation.
Communicate effectively with patients families and healthcare team members.
Support unit operations patient scheduling and documentation tasks.
Maintain clean and organized clinical environments and ensure proper equipment readiness.
Participate in nursing unit activities and patient care planning.
