Job Summary

Sheringham Nursery School and Childrens Centre is home to the East London Research School and A Brighter Start East Londons Early Years Stronger Practice Hub. We are seeking an organised and enthusiastic Project Administrator to support the delivery of an exciting national project: Maths Through Picture Books.

This project delivered by East London Research School in partnership with the Education Endowment Foundation (EEF) and IFF Research evaluates a programme designed to improve Reception childrens understanding of numbers through shared reading of carefully selected picture books.

The programme supports Reception Teachers and Teaching Assistants to deliver structured small-group maths sessions using picture books while the independent evaluation assesses the impact on childrens early number skills and on educators knowledge and confidence in teaching maths.

This role will play a key part in ensuring the smooth organisation and administration of the project supporting programme recruitment delivery communication with participating schools and coordination with the evaluation team.

About the role

The Project Administrator will provide comprehensive administrative communications and financial support to the Research School team. The role includes coordinating events and training supporting school engagement maintaining accurate records and helping ensure the project runs effectively and meets key milestones.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an experienced and highly organised administrator with excellent attention to detail

  • Has strong communication skills and enjoys working with schools and education professionals

  • Can coordinate meetings training events and webinars effectively

  • Is confident using digital tools and managing data

  • Has experience supporting communications and social media activity

  • Is proactive flexible and able to work independently

Experience of working in education or early years would be an advantage.

In this role you will:

  • Coordinate meetings events and training sessions for participating schools

  • Provide administrative support to the project leadership team

  • Manage project documentation communications and participant records

  • Support recruitment and engagement of schools taking part in the programme

  • Assist with financial monitoring ordering and invoicing

  • Maintain accurate data in line with GDPR requirements

  • Support communication through newsletters social media and mailing lists
