What youll do
Audit Leadership: Lead the external audit process across 10 legal entities in 5 countries coordinating statutory audits with a focus on Belgium and the UK and manage any ad hoc internal tax or other audits.
Indirect Tax Management: Oversee VAT analysis submission reporting and reconciliation across the region including e-Invoicing deployments to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Month-End Close: Drive the month-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting maintaining high standards of financial accuracy throughout.
Shared Services Coordination: Act as the regional key contact for shared services overseeing periodic journal entries reconciliations and task reviews to support smooth financial operations.
Internal Controls & Reconciliation: Lead initiatives to improve internal controls and oversee reconciliation processes enhancing financial integrity across the region.
Continuous Improvement: Champion finance process improvements across the region leveraging a problem-solving mindset to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
Team Leadership: Manage a direct team of 2 accountants in Belgium and Kazakhstan and indirectly oversee a shared service team handling AP AR and GL transactions fostering a collaborative and high-performing environment.
Travel Requirements: Occasional travel within the region to support audit tax and team collaboration activities.

What youll bring
Must-haves:
Experience in a multi-entity complex statutory environment preferably under IFRS.
Professional accounting or finance qualification (CA ACCA CIMA or equivalent).
Proven experience in statutory accounts preparation and audit coordination especially in Belgium and the UK.
Excellent communication skills with fluent spoken and written English.
Nice-to-haves:
Experience working in a cross-border environment with multiple countries and legal entities.
Familiarity with complex ERP systems ideally Oracle and experience with ERP migrations/upgrades such as S4HANA.
Previous involvement in business improvement projects and finance transformation initiatives.
Informal or formal line management experience ideally managing accountants or junior finance staff.
