Multilingual Video Games Expert

1. Role Overview

Mercor is collaborating with a leading AI lab on a large-scale AI training initiative focused on improving game analysis interactive reasoning and culturally grounded entertainment understanding in advanced language models. Were seeking experienced Video Games experts to contribute by creating and evaluating video gamerelated prompts and responses.

This is a multilingual opportunity. We are specifically seeking experts who are fluent and deeply engaged in one or more of the following languages:

Japanese Chinese Korean Spanish Russian German Arabic Thai Tamil or Hindi.

Importantly we are not looking for translation ability alone. Candidates must have sustained engagement with video games within their linguistic and cultural context including familiarity with regional gaming markets genre conventions platform ecosystems esports scenes community discourse and culturally specific gaming trends.

This role is ideal for serious gamers reviewers streamers modders competitive players indie developers or dedicated hobbyists who actively participate in gaming communities in their language ecosystem.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Author realistic video game prompts spanning gameplay mechanics genre analysis strategy optimization narrative design game balance and industry trends

• Review and revise AI-generated responses for factual accuracy mechanical correctness contextual nuance and clarity

• Write high-quality human-authored gold responses for complex strategy lore analysis or design-related questions

• Create controlled prompt variations that test subtle differences in platform constraints rule systems player skill levels competitive formats or regional releases

• Evaluate outputs across different tones (analytical instructional review-style competitive) and instruction constraints

• Identify model failure cases involving incorrect mechanics outdated patch information misinterpretation of lore or culturally inconsistent gaming knowledge

3. Ideal Qualifications

• 2 years of sustained serious engagement with video games as a hobby or analytical pursuit (e.g. competitive play game reviewing content creation modding theorycrafting participation in gaming communities)

• Active participation in gaming discourse within at least one of the following languages: Japanese Chinese Korean Spanish Russian German Arabic Thai Tamil or Hindi

• Strong familiarity with major game genres mechanics systems esports ecosystems and regional gaming cultures within your language context

• Ability to clearly articulate gameplay mechanics strategic reasoning and narrative analysis in the target language

• Strong written communication skills and thoughtful editorial judgment
