SUMMARY
The Nurse Lead oversees the delivery of school health services across multiple school locations based on assignment. This leadership role ensures compliance with nursing standards supports staff development and promotes student health and academic success. The position is grounded in the National Association of School Nursing (NASN) Scope and Standards of Practice and the Arizona State Board of Nursing Nurse Practice Act. This position reports to the Director of School Health Services.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Associate of Applied Science in Nursing (AAS)
Current active and in good standing and unencumbered Arizona Registered Nurse license. Compact license may be considered; if the candidate is a resident of Arizona they must seek a home compact state licensure in Arizona.
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in school health.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from a recognized provider (e.g. American Heart Association American Red Cross Health and Safety Institute etc.) OR First Aid CPR and AED certification from a recognized provider.
Supervisory Experience
Valid Drivers License (Must obtain Arizona Drivers license within 30 days of hire)
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree or higher.
Arizona State Certification in Vision and Hearing Screening
National Certification in School Nursing (NCSN)
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS AFTER HIRE
Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella (German measles) or proof of MMR immunization.
IVP Fingerprint clearance card (apply atAZDPS FCC Form Triage)
Must hold a current Drivers license and reliable personal vehicle with insurance coverage greater than or equal to the state required minimum for car insurance as described under Governing Board Policy: EEB-R-1 Business and Personnel Transportation Services - Transportation by Employees.
Bloodborne Pathogen training offered by the TUSD Risk Management Department.

Positions less than 30 hours per week are not eligible for district benefits.
Salary will be prorated if the start date is after the first day of the work calendar for the position.

Probationary Contracts will be issued for any positions that are 0.6 FTE or less and certified employees within their first three years with the District.
