PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF POSITION:
Supports daily operations by serving as the key driver responsible for the safe transport delivery and pickup of equipment providing a high level of customer service throughout all phases of the delivery and setup process.
MAJOR AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:
- Operates company vehicles (including flatbed/open-style trucks) to transport equipment properly securing all loads for transit and performing thorough setups at customer sites.
- Promotes customer relations and satisfaction by completing deliveries and pickups onschedule orconnecting with customersin a timely mannerto provide updates on delivery status and related needs.
- Collaborates with front counter staff to coordinate and schedule deliveries and unit setups ensuringtimelyand efficient service.
- Prepares and sets up units and equipment at customerlocations andassistscustomers during pick-up and drop-off processes.
- Provides knowledgeableassistance loads andunloadsequipment andmaintainsa high levelof service standards by performing work in a manner that consistently achievesa high levelof customer satisfaction.
- Works safely andcomplies withall established safety rules and workpractices andmaintains a neat and orderly vehicle and work environment.
- Protects the company against theft or other suspicious activity byimmediatelyreporting suspicious activity to the manager on duty.
- Keeps supervisor informed ofimportant information developments potential problems and related information necessary for effective management. Coordinates and communicates plans and activities with others asappropriate to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.
- Performs related work asapparentor assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Therequirements listed below are representative of the knowledgeskilland/or ability accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- High school education or equivalent.
- Valid drivers license and the ability to pass a DOT physical examination are required.
- Familiar with the basic use ofPC.
- At leastone year ofexperience in mechanical repair and light industrial products.
- Ability to communicate effectively withothersincludingcustomers.
- Experience driving a large/longvehicle
- Strong service orientation.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Experience with a forklift is strongly preferred.
- Experience securing equipment on aflat bed/open style truck.
- Lawn and garden equipment knowledge is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrates Northern Tool Equipments 12 Core Competencies.
