Job Description
In the role of Mechanical Design Engineer you will be an engineering professional adding value to a gamut of gas turbines and aero-engines development. You will execute general and detailed Mechanical Design tasks and projects in Mechanical Design Team dealing with initial conceptual and detailed design studies in order to reach the design freeze of the gas turbine and aero-engine components including manufacturing support and aftersales / service engineering activities on part lifetime extension. You will participate on design reviews where the new technical solutions are challenged against tough project specifications market trends and alternative solutions.
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Prepare relevant design and quality documentation and layouts using Catia/Autocad in accordance with appropriate standards and design rules
- Define material specifications for various steam turbine component
- Carry out necessary calculations and analysis related to these components
- Collect and analyze technical data
- Meet deadlines for documentation (maintain On Time Delivery) and budgets
- Analyze client comments and elaborate comprehensive answers
- Participate in design and/or technical reviews (internal/external)
- Experience in the power / energy / industrial application business.
- Familiarity with steam turbine design and working principles.
- Familiarity with modern engineering tools norms and design rules.
- Knowledge of the manufacturing processes involved would be an advantage.
- The ability to use of CATIA V5 and Autocad.
- Effective English communication skills both verbally and in writing. Other language abilities would be beneficial.
- Effective analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Must be detail oriented with ability to multi-task.
- Effective planning organisation and presentation skills including the ability to prioritise and plan work.
- Ability to function in a multi-cultural/multi-national corporation.
- Highly motivated organized self-starting individual with good work ethic and integrity.
- Cultural awareness and team player attitude.
