Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse in the NICU provides skilled nursing care to neonates including those requiring various levels of respiratory support and interventions. The role involves attending high-risk deliveries administering medications managing feeding tubes and central lines and collaborating with the healthcare team. The RN may occasionally float to other units such as SCN or Pediatrics/NBN focusing on newborn care.
Location:Seattle Washington United States
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to neonates in a Level III or IV NICU setting.
- Manage patients requiring CPAP/BiPap High Frequency Vents Oscillators and standard ventilators.
- Administer blood and blood products.
- Perform cardioversion and defibrillation as needed.
- Utilize cooling and warming blankets.
- Manage feeding tubes PICC lines and central lines.
- Operate syringe pumps.
- Attend high-risk deliveries and neonatal surgeries.
- Document patient care and related duties appropriately.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of working.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a NICU setting.
- Experience with Blood/Blood Products Administration
- Experience with Cardioversion / Defibrillation
- Experience with Cooling / Warming Blanket
- Experience with Feeding Tubes
- Experience with PICC/Central Lines
- Experience with Syringe Pumps
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- Experience in Level III or IV NICU.
- Experience with neonates 23-24 weeks gestation.
Special Considerations:
- Must be open to floating to different campuses.
- May float to Issaquah or Edmonds SCN or Pediatrics/NBN (care for newborns only).
- Previous employees of affiliated facilities must be separated from the health system for a minimum of 3 months to qualify for a travel position.
Scheduling:
- Block scheduling may be available.
- Can work 3 or more shifts in a row if preferred.
